Well ,we are quickly approaching the year point with our amazing little girl! Can you believe that? This time last year, Josh and I were getting all the last minute things for Kaitlyn’s room and arrival ready, and now we are chasing around a little girl ( not baby) who seems to be into EVERYTHING!!
She is at such a fun age now… of course I truly think every age has been fun. She is interacting like crazy with us, crawling, laughing, eating finger foods… you name it, it seems she is starting to do it now! This past month we had a check up and she was weighing in at 19 lbs 8 oz and almost 28 inches long! She is right on track for where she should be.
She is crawling with absolute proficiency now and is also pulling up and cruising around where ever she can. It is so much fun to watch her as she is developing more and more into a little girl. She sits there and babbles like she is having a conversation with me, and I am loving the desire for her to communicate with me. This afternoon it was getting close to her nap time and she crawled over, pulled herself up on the couch and looked up at me while rubbing her eyes and said “nigh, nigh” I said “you ready to go night night?” and she said”nigh nigh”.. so sure enough I took her up the stairs and laid her in her crib, said “night night Kaitlyn, I love you” and she then said back to me ” nigh nigh”… it made my month!!I can’t wait for her to fully be able to communicate with me!
Fall has been amazing this year and we have really enjoyed getting out and about with KD bug. We have done some hiking and went to Burt’s Pumpkin Farm for some pumpkin picking and hay rides! For Halloween this year Kaitlyn was a lady bug. We did not do the trick or treating thing, because let’s face it… that candy would not be for her, and Lord knows I don’t need it! Instead we went to a fall festival with our friends Kellie and Andy ,and their cute twin boys Alex and Ethan, at their parents church. It was the perfect place to parade her around in her cute little outfit, and then we were done for the evening. We had a blast!
Not too much new in our family, just super excited about the holidays coming up. Our friends Michelle and Viktor, that we have much missed from Sweden, are coming in for a visit in less than a month and are so excited to spend some time with them! They have never met Kaitlyn, but were a HUGE part of praying for her to get here and also were there for us during some rough times before she arrived.. we miss them and are excited to get to hang out with them for a couple of weeks! Also we are traveling to Baton Rouge for Thanksgiving and Kaitlyn gets to meet her great grandparents over there for the first time.. super excited about that as wel!
And of course Christmas will be a blast as well! We can’t wait to start more traditions like cutting down a Christmas tree and things like that!!( p.s. we are on the ball and are already done with all of Kaitlyn’s Christmas presents !! WAHOO)
I am loving my new job , and the church were I am working. Northside UMC is a great place with great people, and I am blessed to have the job that I do. Other than work and the upcoming holidays, we are just trucking along! We’ll keep posting more as the holidays arrive! Hope to have some cute Thanksgiving and Christmas pictures to share in the months to come! For now you will just have to enjoy these cute photos from the past month or so
